Read: 2 Corinthians 3:17 · John 8:36

"Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom." — 2 Corinthians 3:17

The signers of the Declaration knew that winning independence and keeping it were two different battles. The same is true spiritually. Freedom isn't a static achievement — it's a location, a place you live when you're walking closely with God's Spirit. Step away from that closeness, and freedom quietly erodes, no matter what's happening around you.

Watch for what tries to re-enslave a free spirit: the approval of others, old grudges, comfort and fear, and simple spiritual dryness — coasting instead of seeking. Jesus said, "If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed" (John 8:36). Not free-ish. Free indeed.

As you close this week, ask: What am I actually free from? And who is filling me right now?

Reflect: Looking back over this week, what's one truth from these five days you want to carry forward — and one practical way you'll guard your freedom going forward?

Prayer: Lord, keep me standing firm in the freedom You've given. Don't let me drift back into old chains or coast on old encounters. Keep me close to Your Spirit, because that's where true freedom lives. Make me free indeed — and bold enough to live it out loud. Amen.
