Scripture Focus: Genesis 3:8-10; John 14:18
When Adam sinned, fear entered the human heart. Instead of running toward God, Adam hid from Him. Shame made him withdraw from the very Presence he was created to enjoy. This is what sin does: it convinces us that God is unsafe, distant, or disappointed beyond repair.
But God did not abandon Adam in the garden, and Jesus promises not to abandon us now. “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.” The Father comes looking. His voice still calls into hidden places, not to shame us further, but to bring us back into relationship through Christ.
Prayer: Father, show me the places where shame has caused me to hide. Thank You that You do not leave me as an orphan. Draw me out of fear and into the safety of Your presence. Amen.
Declaration: I will not hide from the Father’s presence. He comes to me with mercy, love, and restoration. Shame does not define me; the Father’s voice calls me home.
Reflect: What fear or shame have I allowed to keep me from drawing near to God?
